The Ames Amzalak Memorial Trust
Established to Improve the Quality of Life
in the Greater Rochester area.
The Ames Amzalak Memorial Trust was established through the combination of residuary trusts created under the Wills of three brothers - Henry Ames, Dan Amzalak, and Semon Amzalak, who wanted the residuary of their estates to benefit local charities. The Ames Amzalak Memorial Trust fulfills that wish. Its goal is to improve the quality of life in the Greater Rochester area. Its funding interests are agencies and institutions which are part of the Rochester Jewish Community, and other community and non-profit agencies and institutions benefitting children, the handicapped, healthcare and the arts.
The Trust accepts grant applications from tax exempt not-for-profit organizations throughout the year, and typically awards grants in May or June of each year. Well over $8 million dollars have been awarded in grants from the Ames Amzalak Memorial Trust.
